We recently asked governance professionals, clerks, operational teams and leaders about their experience of using Scriba.

Their feedback revealed four clear ways that Scriba is helping organisations to work more effectively, while reducing workload and supporting the wellbeing of colleagues.

1) Scriba gives significant time back

One of the standout findings was the scale of time savings reported:

  • 100% saved more than 30 minutes per meeting
  • 97% saved more than one hour per meeting
  • The majority saved more than two hours per meeting

More importantly, respondents reported being able to focus on higher-value work instead of manually writing and editing minutes. Scriba does not simply speed up minute writing; it creates capacity for governance, compliance and strategic work that might otherwise be squeezed out by the administrative demands of supporting meetings.

In their own words:

“Time savings have been significant.”

“Time saving and accurate.”

2) Scriba improves wellbeing by reducing stress and mental load

The positive impact on wellbeing came through strongly in the survey responses.

The most frequently cited benefits included:

  • Reduced stress
  • Reduced mental load
  • Less evening working
  • Less weekend working

For many respondents, the benefit went beyond saving time. By reducing the administrative burden associated with meetings, Scriba helped colleagues feel more in control of their workload, reducing pressure, limiting the need to work outside normal hours and creating a more sustainable way of working.

In their own words:

“Scriba has saved us both time and mental fatigue by doing the hard work for us. Game-changing and we love it!”

3) Scriba improves the quality and consistency of minutes

Respondents highlighted improvements in both the quality and consistency of minutes across their organisations.

Reported benefits included:

  • Improved accuracy
  • Clearer capture of challenge, discussion and decision-making
  • Greater consistency across different boards and meetings
  • A high-quality and consistent foundation for minutes across different levels of experience

Consistency was seen as particularly valuable for larger organisations, where different minute-taking styles and individual preferences can lead to variation between meeting records.

The quality of the initial output was also reflected in the survey results. Before any editing or adjustments, respondents gave Scriba-generated minutes an average rating for the quality of the minutes of 8.6 out of 10.

In their own words:

“The quality of the minutes and the detail included are much better than I could achieve myself.”

“This is a must for any minute-taking and produces a high-quality product.”

“Excellently worded minutes.”

4) Scriba allows professionals to participate more fully in meetings

One of the most powerful themes to emerge from the survey was the change in how governance professionals and clerks are able to participate in meetings.

By reducing the need to focus continuously on capturing every detail, Scriba enables colleagues to spend less time taking notes and more time listening, contributing to discussions and applying their professional expertise.

This enables governance professionals and clerks to be more present in the room and make fuller use of their knowledge—helping to strengthen the quality of governance.

In their own words:

“Chance for the Governance Professional to actively engage in meetings rather than furiously type.”

“I can engage in meetings as a Governance Professional.”

“Clerks feel more productive and able to help support fully with advice and guidance.”

Less than one year in and already making a significant difference

Scriba has been supporting organisations for less than a year, so it is really encouraging to see the impact already being reported across a wide range of users and settings.

The feedback shows that reducing meeting administration is about much more than saving time. It can reduce pressure, support more sustainable workloads, improve the quality and consistency of minutes, and enable colleagues to participate more fully in the meetings they support.

We are proud of the progress made so far but this is only the beginning. As Scriba continues to develop, we are excited to work alongside our colleagues and partner organisations and continue to learn from their experiences as we explore how we can create even more capacity for the work that matters.
